Storm Ciarán is expected to move northeastwards across England on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Damaging winds are likely to develop along the southern flank of this area of low pressure, especially in coastal locations. Coastal areas of southeast England are likely to experience very strong southwesterly winds, where is likely to reach 70-80 mph across coasts, and possibly 80-90 mph across the most exposed ones. The wind will gradually ease through Thursday afternoon.
