An upper low is currently dominating in the west and pushing moister from the west into Midlands, bringing widespread showers and sporadic lightning. Hence a board slight risk has been issued. There is a potential of cape in excess of 1000 J/kg affecting parts of midlands. This will bring a risk of one or two cluster(s) of thunderstorms in these areas, bringing gusty wind, heavy showers, and hail. Therefore an enhanced risk has been issued for these areas. However, these showers may merge into longer spells of showery rain in places, resulting in rather saturated profiles and reducing the lightning potential.
