An upper low is currently dominating in the west and pushing moister from the southwest into Midlands, bringing widespread showers and sporadic lightning. Hence a board slight risk has been issued. There is a potential of cape in excess of 1000 J/kg affecting parts of somerset, south wales into west midland and also Lincolnshire This will bring a risk of one or two cluster(s) of thunderstorms in these areas, bringing gusty wind, heavy showers, and hail. Therefore enhanced risk have been issued for these areas. However, this showers may merge into longer spells of showery rain in places, resulting in rather saturated profiles and reducing the lightning potential. Into the late afternoon, a quasi-warm front will bring heavy showers to parts of Scottish borders and the Lake district, with some thunderstorms embedded in it at first, turning weaker and merge into longer spell of rain later. An enhanced risk has issued for these areas for lightning and gusty wind.
