A surface low will develop across southern England over Monday, introducing areas of heavy showers to many parts of the British Isles. Frequent heavy showers will start to develop across the east / northeast , moving southwestward into parts of the Midlands during the afternoon. In some areas, particularly Northern England, these showers may intensify, possibly leading to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. These thunderstorms are anticipated to be sporadic in nature. Due to the slow moving nature of these showers, localised flooding is possible in places, especially across the Pennines.
