A band of heavy rain will be slow-moving across western parts of Scotland over the weekend. High substantial rainfall accumulation is expected in areas, particularly over elevated terrain. Parts of Scotland are expected to experience 25-35 mm of rain within 24 hours in lower-lying areas, potentially reaching 40-60 mm within 24 hours in higher regions. The most severe conditions are anticipated in elevated areas of western Scotland, where 80-100 mm of rain is possible within 24 hours, potentially exceeding 150 mm within 3 days. This excessive rainfall could lead to significant local impacts, including damaging floods that might pose a danger to life.
