A warm front is expected to persist over Scotland on Saturday, with a high likelihood of significant rainfall, particularly in elevated areas. The yellow warning predicts approximately 40mm of rain to fall within a 24-hour period, while the amber warning suggests even higher totals of 70-80mm. The western side of Scotland is anticipated to experience heavy rainfall, with the red warning indicating 90-100mm expected over higher terrain and the possibility of exceeding 130mm in the most elevated areas (purple warning). These conditions may lead to significant impacts, including localized severe flooding. However, rainfall is expected to diminish by early Sunday.
