On Friday, strong southwesterly wind will introduce milder air to parts of the British Isles. Frequent heavy showers will start to develop across the west, moving northeastward into parts of inland area during the afternoon. In some areas, particularly the West Midlands, Northern England, Wales and parts of Ireland, these showers may intensify, possibly leading to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. These thunderstorms are anticipated to be sporadic in nature, but remain a chance of turning frequent across Sheffield, Leeds and Middlesbrough. Hail showers, mainly less than 1 cm, is possible to form in any heaviest shower.
